Shoot Them Down! - The Flying Saucer Air Wars Of 1952
by Frank Feschino, Jr 392 pages, 7.44" x 9.68” back to Truth Seekers Home www.abodia.com/t
During the summer of 1952, Americans reported a record amount of UFO sightings to Project Blue Book, the Air Force group responsible for investigating unidentified flying objects. Author/Illustrator Frank C. Feschino, Jr. has written an exciting new book that encompasses the summer of 1952 and America’s overwhelming UFO problem during that time.
Feschino Reveals Reality 22 Aug 2007 by Alfred Lehmberg
Indeed 'Reality' is revealed, considered, and then assiduously chronicled by
Frank Feschino. In the final analysis (and we'd have never heard about it
otherwise, good reader!), Feschino came, he saw, and he wrote it down. "Veni,
vidi, scripsi," it could be said?
The data are revealing, reader! Feschino reports them to us in detail. Indeed,
we weren't in 'Kansas' any more after 1952... and may not, I submit (remembering
a wealth of old history scribed in old ink and stone... ...epic poetry
indicating same?), have ever been in 'Kansas'! Roll that and smoke
it!
See, even if it turns out that UFOs were not really the cause of a documented
loss of men and machines, it remains that men and machines were lost engaging
something causing that loss! These brave men should get some kind of
recognition for their sacrifice, and they have not!
Moreover, this is a 'cause' that is another subject of one of those ubiquitous
cover-ups festooning the whole of a ufological milieu for decades!
One can be, therefore, tantalized with the distinct possibility that the United
States, et al, went to undeclared war with, and was first to fire upon... an off
world intelligence! Additionally, that war continued, that loss of men and
machine went on unabated, until we stopped trying to, "Shoot Them Down"!
Which is to say that we lost that undeclared war, eh?
This is some kind of serious read, sincere scholarship, and it is without cant
or bias, verily! That data are merely followed, period, is the thrust.

Author says UFO-Air Force dogfight ended in Flatwoods
by MANNIX PORTERFIELD/THE REGISTER-HERALD
BECKLEY -- Sci-fi buffs flocked to a fantasy film in 1984 bearing a title
prediction that 2010 would be the year earthlings make contact with aliens.
Actually, contact has come, and it was less than friendly, says one UFO
researcher.
Three decades earlier, in fact, back in 1952, just five years after the famed
Roswell, New Mexico incident, the American military engaged a convoy of alien
aircraft with orders to destroy them in a pitched air battle right off the
Atlantic Coast, says Frank Feschino, author of "The Flatwoods Monster,''
a phenomenon that rocked a tiny West Virginia town that year.
An illustrator and writer, Feschino has produced a follow-up book, this one
titled "Shoot Them Down,'' an effort produced after years of painstaking
research of the U.S. Air Force's once-classified files on unidentified flying
saucers and digesting countless magazine articles on the matter.
His years of exhaustive study have convinced Feschino that American jet fighters
did indeed make contact -- at the point of their guns.
"Shoot
Them Down''
draws its name from orders Feschino says
President
Truman
gave military commanders while an American public was growing increasingly
jittery over coast-to-coast UFO sightings.
Two years earlier,
Truman
had remarked at a news conference, "I can assure you that flying saucers, given
that they exist,
are not
constructed by any power on earth.''
"There are tons of documents right there, intelligence reports, talking about
pilots chasing these things, going after them,'' Feschino said, citing the
once-hidden reports on the Air Force's so-called Project Blue Book.
"That's when it hit the fan, and the government stepped up. That is when they
had to simmer the whole country down. The whole country was in an uproar.
Everybody was panicking. The job of the government is to keep things under
control, and they couldn't let the country panic.''
UFOs were buzzing the entire country that year, "and a good chunk of them were
over military installations, and power plants, like Oak Ridge,'' the author
says.
Feschino pulls his theory largely from the writings of Air Force Capt. Edward
Ruppelt, a decorated World War II veteran, recalled to duty when hostilities
erupted in Korea.
Roswell might stand out as the mother of all UFO stories, but 1952 was the most
prolific year by far for aircraft sightings -- by one account, some 30,000 alone
in the United States, many of them reported in local newspapers around the
country.

To me, this is yet another example of why the government(s) around the world
will not officially announce the truth.. because people panic.
Physicist to speak at city (Charleston, W. Va.) UFO summit
by Beckley Register Herald Sept. 3, ’07 from Chas. Daily Mail web page
Nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman arrives in West Virginia's capital Friday with "overwhelming evidence" that aliens from beyond have been visiting planet Earth for a long time.
Friedman is a keynoter for a special two-day UFO summit at the old Capitol Theater in Charleston, arranged by promoter Larry Bailey.
For almost half a century, Friedman has explored the UFO phenomenon and spent much of his time on the lecture circuit, meeting audiences on better than 600 campuses and appearing on national television interviews, including, of late, the "Larry King Show."
At every stop, his message never varies.
"UFOs are real, and the government has been covering them up in what I call the ‘cosmic Watergate,' " Friedman told The Register-Herald in a recent interview.
"I've never seen a flying saucer, but I've never seen a meteor or a gamma ray, but I think they're real, too."
No matter what side one takes in the UFO controversy, all must concede Friedman's scientific background.
For 14 years, he worked for no less giants than General Electric, General Motors, Westinghouse, McDonnell Douglass, TRW Systems and Aerojet General Nucleonics.
Friedman was the first scientific investigator to explore the Roswell incident and has been hard at it ever since, unearthing what he insists is a massive coverup by the government to deny the existence of alien craft.
"The flying saucer story is the biggest story of the millennium," he declares.
The linchpin of the UFO issue, of course, is Roswell.
It was there, back in 1947, that true believers say that two alien aircraft crash landed and the government recovered not only the debris from those ships but a number of alien bodies, but immediately moved into a sophisticated coverup to keep the lid on.
To cement the official lie that what landed was an aborted weather balloon, he says, the Army Air Force, as it was known back then, set loose such a device for the benefit of the press.
To those who mock his conclusions, Friedman is quick to ask if they have ever bothered to study the five major scientific studies used in his presentations. What he has learned is that 97 percent haven't.
Besides, scientific breakthroughs have seldom come without ridicule, even within the community of scientists.
In modern times, Friedman is swift to point out, the city of Troy, often dismissed as legend, a myth created in literature, was actually proven to have been a genuine place.
Skeptics often wonder why UFOs, if indeed real, haven't left behind some hard evidence and why they pick obscure locations such as a Kansas wheat field in which to set down, rather than downtown Detroit or bustling Dallas, For that matter, why hasn't a team of aliens touched down on the Rose Garden, walked up to the White House door and demanded to see the president.
Friedman alludes to violent contact between aliens and the U.S. Air Force -- a topic explored at length by the summit's other keynoter, author Frank Feschino -- as one reason.

President Eisenhower's farewell address to the nation, January 1961
"In the counsels of Government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the Military Industrial Complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together."
